Wow, did a dead battery ever affect my sensors. I jumped it this morning, and it didn't shift too well, when I applied brakes (drawing current from my shitty battery) the gauge panel momentarily died and came back. Anyway, now that I think of it, it's been stalling intermittently at idle speed in gear (good rpm too). Could a crappy battery be giving me too weak of a spark at idle, causing it to run rough? I've got new ignition and I've cleaned the throttle body already too. Thanks.

you should take the battery to pep boys or something and have them test it. u might need a new one. also have your alternator checked and check all the wiring it could just be a bad/loose connection somewhere especially on the terminals u might just need to put some grease or vaseline on there

The battery is apparently an oddball (95 SE automatic). UAP said it was a 58R series, $95 Canadian. Canadian Tire has them for $90 CDN. I'll take a look around the cabling to see if something is loose. Got any pictures of this job? I left my tools at home, so I need to see what I have to borrow to get this done at work today.

Hey, put the new batt in and no slow idle stuttering now. The mech said that all the sensors need at least 9.6 V, and my shitty batt may not have averaged that. Also note, that the sides of the old battery were slightly swelled (salted over insided). Anyone else have this cure?
