DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT buy Albany brake pads(Autozone) pads. I bought a set and I've already had 2 (individual) pads wear out after only about 3,000 miles. I'm sorry but that's just pathetic. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has had the same problem. I was kinda weary of the name but that's all they had that would fit. Josh

If I were you I'd have my calipers checked out bro...I've had albany's on all my cars and they typically last 25000 miles. MULTI 94PSE TXPOC

I did, that's what I don't get......there should be something wrong but there isn't. I guess I just got a crap batch....I took them back to autozone and the guy gave me a new set....I guess we'll see how these ones hold out. >

I put a set of performance friction in my Moms car and they work great after you break them in. A bit noisy at first but they were quite a bit better than her stock pads. Or you could get a set from Ford although they may be expensive. >

Here's a short list of "proven to work well" (according to many GT owners on the Performance List) brake pads: -Porterfields R4S -Axis Metal Masters -Stillen's Metal Matrix (what I use) -KVR

Can I get those for a base. I know the GT's probably don't have a much different braking system but I only have discs in the front. Josh >

Both my front calipers locking up at the same exact time??? That seems a little bit of a stretch to me. Plus I took it to a mechanic and he said everything looked ok. I'm not saying it couldn't be but I'm thinking they just won't hold up well with the way I drive. I counted on my parts to perform just as well as a set of 100 dollar brake pads and I shouldn't have. That was my mistake but 3,000 miles to indicates that they are cheap(at least the pair I got). I guess I'll see how long the replacements will last. Josh >

did you get your rotors cut down , or buy new rotors when you got new pads? if not it could be that your rotors are warped. This will make your pedal pulsate and wear down them pads FAST! Bob Harden '89 pgt '92 pgl >

Hey guys...I work at Advance Auto Parts and I recommend Bendix pads. They are regarded as some of the best replacement brake pads that money can buy. You can see a visible difference in these pads if you look at them. They are excellent...if you have an Advance near you...ask for part number "MKD 637" for 2nd gen Probes. If you don't have and Advance near you...go to PartsAmerica.com and have them delivered to your house. Good luck guys and take my word on this one. BeRu17@...
