Hi, I've had my '98 Contour Sport since March of 2000. I liked it until winter came last year. I live in Wisconsin, and have driven a lot in the snow and ice. I've never enjoyed it but I've done alright. Last year winter was just aweful with my Contour. I feel like I don't have control over it. I have two snow tires on the front, but I feel like they don't help much, also I don't have ABS. Someone told me that the problem may be that the wheels are too large on the Sport Contours...I don't know what to do...Any recomendations for tires or anything else? I don't want to be a prisoner in my own home this winter again.

Snow tires on all 4 corners will help. What size are you running. If they are the same size as my '96 SE "205/60-15" I would recomend going with a thinner/skinnier tire like a 195/70-15 or 185/75-15. Just take it slow and easy.

GERII/Cone_tour
