Hi folks, I was involved in an accident and now I have the issue of replacing my driver's side door. Thankfully no one was injured. I located and purchased a complete door with window and all trim, panels, mirror etc from a wrecker yard. It was about 100 miles from home and it was raining so I decided to put the door on at the wrecker yard. The smashed door opened and closed using the inside handle and the window was shattered in the wreck so I was looking forward to a dry ride home. I was single handed at the yard but managed to get the bolts in the door. I only inserted the bolts part way so that I could do adjustments and pushed the door to make sure it would latch. It seemed to be fine so I attempted to open the door to finish tightening but found that the door can not open as the fender blocks the door from opening more than a few inches. Now I can't get to the bolts to loosen or tighten them. I'm wondering about the possibilities and have considered going to a body shop for advice or maybe removing the fender and adjusting its position. After the wreck, I had to fashion a wedge out of duct tape and tape it over the door switch so that the door chime and dome light would be deactivated with the door shut. After the door was replaced, I thought the problem would be resolved but it is not. This leads me to believe the cab shape/door opening is warped which causes great concern. I'm wondering if my poor ranger has met its end. Would appreciate any words of wisdom. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. Jerry

If you have the time and patience yank the fender off 1st Swing the door wide and wrench the bolts out, then back in. I know its tedious, but for the love of a ranger don't junk it...Hypothetically, an impact to the drivers side, wouldn't distort the cabin port opening. You can't really call it quits till you fasten the door completely. Keep your head up and I'll help you the best I can. The buzz and light combo will remedy itself for sure, as it takes a meek bit of pressure to disengage them. Don't give up... If your close to jersey let me know and i can come try to give you hand.. Body shops are expensive and do shit ass work to make a quik buck (most of them) doors are easy. One question are the door hinges crooked on the new door???- Nick...Cobretti chestnut4068
