hello,
well it was not my choice, but my grandpa left me his 1958 ford edsal. but before i could get a hold of the car my uncle grabbed the motor and trans out of it. i have been looking of a FE block with no luck, but have came across a motor out of a 1973 ford galaxy. its a 428 and i would like to know if anyone knows if this motor would fit or if they make anything that would make it fit. i would love to get this monster rolling around before we see 4$ a gallon.

I'm sorry I don't have the technical knowledge to help, but there are many forums out there specific to classic cars where you may be able to get some help. good luck, it would be great to get this back on the road.

Wow! That is a classic. I think that I would have kicked my uncles butt and got the engine and trans back from him. Restoring can be really fun, but not when half of it is missing.

Hey Cory,
If you're near north Tx. I would gladly trade you an FE motor for your 428. You can drop anything you want in it. All it takes is money, weather you do the work, or pay someone else. If you want to restore it don't without the original motor. BUT it would be alot more fun and dependable with late model drive train (brake's, suspension, air, motor. The list can go on long after we run out of money. Remember it's the journey not the destination. 2 cents

Mick

any ford fe will fit . you just need to get the right year motor mounts for it , as for the trans the 1965 and earlyer cruse-o-matic would be the right trans. but id up date it with the c-6 trans.
