Hi, I own an 83 Club Wagon with the 4.9L straight 6 and 3 speed auto. The engine had not been running up to par (sputtering, loss of power, and just not running as well as it did and should for only 67k miles on it. I asked around and narrowed it down to the EGR valve which didnt seem too bad but I bought a new one anyways, intsalled it and still no luck. (the fuel filter is also new). Finally I stuck a golf tee in the vacuum hose that was supposed to connect to the EGR valve to stop the air and it ran 10 times better. The problem is that it still does not run just right, and for emissions, the EGR should be hooked up. Any information on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Secondly, I am painting and restoring the body back to original colors. I am in search of the original mustard brown/ tan two tone pintriping. Any info on where i could purchase this or possibly get it made would be of much help. Thank you.
