I've got an '88 sc with the Electronic Climate Control. It keeps flashing which indicates a problem with the system. Does anyone know how to find out what problem the system is detecting?

I also have the same problem of blinking lights on my electronic climate control. On top of that, I only have cold air when on 65 deg. and hot air when on 90 degrees. I have had this problem for years and have not been able to figure it out. The dealer told me to bring it in when it is flashing and only then they can determine the problem. The only problem is that the damm thing does not flash when I bring it in. The dealer punches in a sequence of codes on the climate control itself and the display shows a code which is the problem. Let's hope someone out in cyber space has had the same problem and corrected it. Tom

Tom...<br>You're prbably going to need a whole new cliamte control system. I think it was about $300. I had a 95 with extended warenty, had my backlighted lamp go out, and the Ford repair service had to replace the whole unit.

First thing you need to do is pull the unit from the dash without disconnecting the vacuum lines at the back. Fire up the engine, turn the system on, and lightly spray water around the vacuum lines where they attach to the ECC. Most common problem with these babies is a vacuum leak in the control unit or lines.
