Hi first of all. I have a 96 crown vic, ex police. My question is that when I accelerate really fast my engine starts to ping and I was wondering what that might be Raf

It most likely the type of octane gas you are using, try and use higher octane gas next time you fill up, or maybe try using a different gas station. there is also a fuel additive you can try it call Chevron Techron.

So it wouldn't have any thing to do with some part being busted or something like that. Just the type of gas, because I do use the lowest recommended octane that is in the owner manual Raf

no there is nothinig wrong with your engine, I had the same problem with my '93. I started to go a diffrent gas station and used the next grade of gas and my problem went away.
