Has any of you had this problem?<br><br>My 97 Contour GL (2.0 Zetec 5 spd) will occasionally stop running for no apparent reason. I'll be driving along and the engine will simply shut off. No warning, no chugging or rough running. It simply stops. As if I had turned the key off.It usually happens when I put the clutch in as I'm coming to a stop. But it happens so randomly, I haven't been able to figure out any kind of pattern. Neither have the Ford Dealer techs. They've been throwing parts at it hoping something will work as they haven't a clue what's causing it.<br><br>Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm ready to leave the keys in it in a bad neighborhood and hope it gets stolen.
