was looking into making my own exhaust system as Bryan suggested.... luved my Flowmaster muffler on my Camaro so I E-mailed them and they replyed that their #42050 can be installed in place of the OE muffler, weights 15 lbs., and is $69.75...anyone ever have one of these on their Probe??? what I need to know now is what dia. of pipe to get, how hard it is to do the bending(am I better off having a shop do that) and any other parts I will need??? Thanx, Fred 96 Probe SE 5-spd, 17" Wheels, K&N drop in filter, Killer System

Bosal uses a 2-1/8" pipe for their exhaust system, and it gained about 1-2 hp, so 2-1/8" tubing shouldn't hurt anything. As far as bending the tubes yourself, im sure you could bend it, but the bends would not be very smooth. It would be best to have someone with a mandrel bending machine to do that part for you. After you figure out where the bends need to be and how much pipe you need, all thats left it to weld it all together. I dont know if you have access to welding equipment, but if you did, you could do that yourself if you have the skills. That would save on having a shop do it. I recall someone on the list having a flowmaster on their PSE, but I think they sold it. Dedric Ramsey dedric@... http://www.avana.net/~dedric/

I got a custom FlowMaster exhaust put on my '95 PSE. I had a muffler shop mandrel bend 2 1/4" cat-back tubing and weld on a flowmaster muffler with a 3" chrome BOSAL tip. It sounds clean and deep. Mark Light '95 PSE ATX
