My husband and I purchased an 02 F150 XLT SuperCrew 5.4 L V8 from a private party yesterday. My husband went to clean the battery terminals after we got it home because they were corroded, and now every time we open or shut a door on the truck or try to un-lock it the alarm goes off. There is no manual for the truck, and the former owner has been of no help. The dealership wants us to bring it in. Well, I think there should be someway to disarm this without having to take it into the dealership or any mechanic. I mean what do people do if it goes off any other time? I'm sure that there is some way of using the clicky key or something, we just don't know it. Help, please !

Never mind. We had a local place come and yank the alarm out. It took care of the problem. The guy that took it out said that the anti-theft alarm was after market. I don't know if I believe that too much, though. When he pulled it out to look at it it had a pretty blue Ford Motor Company sticker on it. Who knows... Thanks anyways. smile.gif
