Hi Marcus, who know's about this stuff. Were you pulling anything today? I usualy take the truck out of overdrive when pulling heavy stuff(this probably doesn't apply). If the tranny isn't slipping in or out of overdrive just do a once over under the truck. Checking any plugs or connections on or around the tranny. Take a can of lps or whatever's handy and give the connections a blast. You may find a loose connection. The more offroad activity or harsh weather your truck is exposed to the greater the chance of stuff working itself loose. I drive an '02 superduty and the tach is spastic usualy pegged. It's no more than a glitch and a conversation piece for the boys. These things can be phantom's taking it to the dealer is almost sure to be cost prohibitive. Swing by a transmission shop and ask if this is common.

Hope this was helpful

Mick
