think that I am being scammed. I don't know for sure.
Yesterday I was at an auto paint shop. I wanted a quote from them to
paint the running boards on my Mom's van as they have faded and have
become rough. No cracks though. The guy looked the van over and said
that he could do the job but he also wanted me to consider having
him "dye" the fiberglass running boards a flat or glossy black. The
price is about 100 bucks cheaper. "You will NEVER have to worry
about them again!!!"
"Sounds ok....But if it is a dye, maybe I can do it myself."
So I call the local automotive paint supplier and they have never
heard of it. I check the internet and did not find any info on it.
So, Does anyone know if this "dying" process exists or works?
My thought is that he saw this as such a small job that he did not
want to buy a huge gallon of paint just for two running boards. But
rather, he would like to use some black paint that he has in stock.
Whatcha think?
