Has anyone had any experience with a Flowmaster muffler system for the Base Probes, i.e. sound, performance, looks? Theoretically, couldn't you just buy 2.25" pipe to run from the converter, into the muffler, install it yourself, and have the same results? This would be a lot cheaper than buying the Brospeed exhaust system for $549 (what i've seen it listed for). Any info. would be much appreciated. Keep up the e-mails guys. Hey Gary. I've got a Flowmaster muffler on my car. I just had a muffler shop run 2 1/2 inch pipe from the cat to a Flowmaster. It sounds great. It's really deep and not whiny at all. I do have a resonator though. Anyway, I did see an improvement in performance. The most noticable thing was a widening of my powerband. All totaled, it only cost about $325. That's with a $50 chrome tip and labor. Jordan 94 Base Some stuff

I have a 3 chamber flowmaster. I works just as good as some of the other after market brands. Moreover, you can get just the exhaust and have it mounted. I didn't have the money at the time so I just got the muffler itself. I don't regret it. It sounds good too. It has a low noise tone- doesn't sound like you are dragging a cat behind you like some.
