I wouldn't put a car bra on your focus... nice ones are expensive, and all of them ruin the paint job on the covered area of paint...

mildew can grow in there, and the sun doesn't hit that area, so if the car bra is ever removed, the paint will be different there... that, and personally, i don't find car bras to be aesthetically pleasing.

Depending on the bra and how you use it, they can definitely protect your car's paint.

I drive my Escort across the country a few times and the bra protected the paint from quite a few chips and dings from flying rocks and gravel.

You do get into trouble if you don't take the thing off when you was the car and make sure that there is a nicke thick coat of wax underneath it.

I originally purchased a bra for my ZX3. The clips broke that held it to the fenders. I got it replaced, and the new one didn't fit properly, the clips that held it to the front bumper broke and now I have faint rub marks in the paint. Granted these were Ford original equipment, and aftermarket suppliers may be a bit better, but it is my beleif that Ford hasn't quite designed the things properly. I have removed the main bra and now just keep the hood cover portion (yeah I know, some people think it's tacky, but there are alot of "lovebugs" down south and anything to protect the paint is worth it.
