Hi,

On a 99 4WD,  why are the rear shoes for the parking/emergency brake so difficult to buy ?.

It appears EBC, Mintex, etc, do not sell them and the Ford Main Agent is the only choice.

Do the shoes off anything else fit ?

Thanks

Tony

Don't know. I checked with my local independent parts supplier, and they carry them (CarQuest affiliate). The main rear pads were ~$45 US, and the parking brake pads were ~$29. He had both in stock. Maybe a UK thing? >

Thanks for that,  do you know whose make they were,  as the USA EBC catalogue doesn’t list them,  Bendix only list for 2WD,  neither does www.fordpartsonline.com, who are my other US reference point,  stock them.

Thanks

Tony

No, sorry. The parts dealer is CarQuest affiliate. Major mfrs build the stuff, but they sell under CarQuest brandname. Didn't ask, but I assumed they were CarQuest branded. I can check again tommorrow- and also check with another local parts place that sells Wagner / Bendix etc parts. >
