I have a 2003 Ford Galaxy, it is a nice car to drive and it is comfortable for passengers, but it has proved expensive to maintain and it hasn't been very reliable. It has cost me over £7500 in parts and labour so far, I have had it from new and it has low mileage. Friends say I should sell it and buy a more reliable make, have I just been unlucky? Should I consider another Ford?

I've been in a similar position, having spent a small fortune on a car & not knowing when to quit.

If the money you've spent has solved the problems & it's OK with inspection type issues then I'd be tempted to hang onto it & hope it pays for itself on the long term. If you sell it & buy a second hand car with the money you may well be buying someone else's problems. At least you know the score with your own!

Thanks GreenMoo, you have summed up how I feel about it, but other people keep telling me to sell it. It is a very comfortable car and it is nice to drive, it is just high maintenance!
