I need to replace my chrome front bumper on my 2000 E150. I can get a new take-off from a conversion shop in Elkhart for a couple hundred dollars shipped. It looks like only four bolts hold the bumper onto the bumper brackets. Is this job as easy as it looks? Also, if I reuse the gray plastic valance from my old bumper, what is the right tool to remove the plastic push pins without snapping them off? Any advice?

if the bolts aren't TOO rusted and you don't strip out the square hole on the bumper, yeah it is simple. I've never had any luck w/ those %&@$ push pins dsmith066

If the push pins do snap off, are they replaceable? Or are some of them molded into the plastic valance so they can't be replaced? Thanks for the advice!

Hey, I saw that you outbid me on that bumper! Small world. It's all good though, they had another (I actually got it for a few bucks cheaper). It's my understanding that the bumper comes with a new plastic piece. As a matter of fact I got the shipping info today - 2 boxes. And to answer your question, yes, those bolts are all there is to it. I have the additional obstacle of a front hitch to work around. I'm not sure about the plastic clips...I've already broken off a couple anyway. But if you get down behind the bumper I think they can be squeezed together and pushed through.
