After spending 7 months getting "repaired" I finally got my 2L (cvc 3tr :p) probe back, and I'll be damned, my county sticker and inspection ran out.  So I renewed county sticker and drove it for the first time to get it inspected, and the front end ( more precisely the drivers side ) feels like the wheels running off the car and coming back on ( or something is walking on and off ) and makes a muffled *chunk* sound when it comes back in and I can feel it in the steering wheel.  I asked the shop to look at it, but if my current streak of luck continues on this car, they won't be able to find it.  Anybod ever have a similar experience or know what to look for?  Only mod on this car is a pace-settter intake that is not supported properly and is putting way too much stress on the upper-intake rubber tubing.  Every time I look at it, it cracks a little bit more.  Also, when I got the car, there were only two screws holding the airbox on, which is a little scary.  I asked around, and they said that I would have to get them from a ford dealership.  Anybody know any different?  Can anyone recommend a better intake other than the POS pacesetter? (I've actually considered putting the stock back on since its in a "ram-air" set up and this one sits in the bottom of the engine bay where there's no air-flow.   Thanks for any help!   -Jaime

Almost sounds like it could be a strut.  Mine went a while back and it was pretty scary.  Theyre not too bad to replace either.
Good luck
