I don't know about your specific problem, but I do hear a noise when I turn the wheel. It only happens while the car is cold, and is more pronounced when the temp has been really low outside. I will hear a clumping sound when turning the wheel, just one clump. After the car is warmed up, the noise is gone. Been going on for about 3 weeks, and there are no other problems to go along with it. Haven't the foggiest clue to what it is. Anybody else have this problem?

Yup, I have the exact same probem.  Iv heard that its normal.  When it gets
colder, joints contract and leave room to clunk and click.  As the weather
gets warmer it will go away.

mine started about 6 months ago, only on the passanger side and just recently
it started doing it on the drivers side. its not a clunking sound though, its
more like a wobble and it always does it not only when its cold. its very
annoying.
