I read the postings about the fuel smell problem on early XLT's but have a question. Anyone experienced this problem on the 2003 model V6 ? On my way to Banff about a week ago I pulled over for 10 minutes to take pictures. When I restarted I got a whiff of fuel from the aircon vents. It lasted for about 10 minutes. Is this maybe the same problem ? regards Dave

Dave: Almost sounds like the same thing. My Escape had the problem and when they developed the new gaskets they were installed in mine. This was back around Jan. of 2001. It was nothing more than the compound used in the original gaskets, so I would find it hard to believe this would be a problem in the newer Escapes. Dennis
