I have a 1995 Contour and slowly but surely the plastic on my gear shift has been cracking. I did the good ole' duct tape patch together but that only lasted so long. Lo and behold today the whole thing just about fell apart. The plate cover on it won't sit right and but for the fact that the car is going foward I wouldn't know I was in drive. This venting is actually leading to a question. Has this happened to anyone, is there a recall on it and how much was it to get it fixed?
