Greetings from Oregon! My used 1996 Ranger Splash seems to have some critical hardware missing from the spare tire carrier. This is the first truck I've ever owned so I'm a little fuzzy on what the correct/original hardware might look like. I'm hoping someone could take send me a digital pic of the following. 1. There is some kind of bold/nut (pin?) fastener that holds together the two hinged pieces of metal that make up the spare carrier where they meet. 2. There is a bolt that goes through one of the lug holes of the rim and into a threaded nut that's tack-welded onto the carrier. Looks like this keeps the wheel from bouncing out of the carrier. Again, I'm assuming it has some kind of knob to allow it to be removed/replaced by hand? I suppose these could be regular hex head bolts that the lug wrench would fit but. Guess that would work Except for #1 where I'd need two wrenches. One to hold the bolt still and the other to spin the nut off. I'm sure the pics will speak a thousand words. Thanks in advance, David

David - My 96 ranger was also missing some of this hardware and I believe we either used bungie cords instead or ordered a dealer part. We also had to buy a spare tire too. Sorry this is so vague, I'll see I if can get a pic up of what my little rig looks like, but I need to get a cable for my DC so try and be patient - Hadrian davidbusey
