Hello,
My father has a 2-door '85 Crown Vic. He's had this car since '95
when he got it with less than 30k miles (just rolled over 80k this
weekend). As long as he's had it, the buzzer that reminds you to take
your keys out of the ignition when you open the door, and presumably
doubles as a headlight alarm, has never worked. I located the buzzer
and tested it with a power supply, and it worked fine. The interior
lights in the car work fine, so the door switches are ok, unless
there is another one I can't see. Is there a common problem that
might cause this? All of the fuses are good. My car is a '93 Escort,
and most of the things pertaining to the door switches (interior
lights, headlight alarm, automatic seatbelts, etc.) are handled by a
black box under the driver's seat that contains a bank of relays and
such. Is there a similar box in an '85 Crown Vic, and where might I
find it? Thanks for your help.
