I have a 96 and my heater does not heat when the engine is idle, only when accelerated. Has anyone else had his prob?

I'm guessing that your ranger has a 4 banger in it and apart from making sure that your cooling system is functioning properly, ( coolant is clean, thermostat working properly, heater core is clear and the doors in your heater box are opening and closing fully) there isn't a whole bunch you can do. These systems don't make alot of heat at the best of times, let alone at idle when the circulation slows down. I hope this helps you some. Good luck!
