Hi guys,
I have a contour 98 SE I love it, but I am having problems. Check light came up, car has been spottering like it has no gas only in high RPM with the A/C or in idle with the A/C on, without the A/C works fine but if I accelerate the car to rapidly it will start jumping or spottering. Took it to the dealer and the computer said Firing code #3 I changed the sparks and the cables. It worked fine for a couple of months but now is doing the same. I know you have to change sparks but not every 2 months. Has somebody had the same experience, can anybody tell me what could it be that is making me insane with the car :)
Thanks for your help!!!
JC

hey, my friend has a 96' contour and for the last couple of months was having the same exact problem. i guess what started it was the fact that he got water with gas once when he filled up, but after getting all that out it was still doing it. i guess he replaced the plug wires, we took it out and it was fine, it also needs a clutch so we're not sure if that's exactly what's wrong or not. expensive solution, get a good car :)
