Hi guys, I have a 1998 Contour sport, I love my car, but for the past couple of months I have been having some trouble with the car. Car if you accelerate to fast starts spottering, normally it does it the most with the A/C on. I took it to the shop and the computer indicated firing failure in 3, they told me to change the sparks and the cables. I changed them but weeks later, same thing, took again to shop (by the way this is Car Max), and they told me the same thing, even with the new sparks and cables. Has anyone had this problem before, does anyone know what could this be. Check Engine light is killing me!!!!. Thank You. JC5

heres your best bet.  if you want to make it faster, run it into a pole at 40 mph head on.  trust me, it works GREAT. to hell with probes...probes suck forever!!!!!!!

p.s....i had a Se with header back exhaust, cold air intake, etc etc you get the idea and it probabally wouldnt have broken a damn 17 second 1/4 mile time.  unless you invest 100 million bucks into the damn motor dont think its ever gonna get out of its own way.  by the way have fun with your lead sled and best luck losing races.  peace jeremy...glad to be driving a dsm :-)

Shit man. what's your problem. Not everyone is into making their car fast, and besides, a probe looks a hell of a lot better than a dsm, and i'm sure i can be back backed up about that one.

Go away, it's not your poor cars fault you don't know what to do with it. I've raped so many DSM's, dime a dozen buddy.

Stephen if you are refering to the wire holder attached to the valve cover you just pull on it it snaps off.   Dale
