Hey there, I have to change the headlight on my 95 Probe SE. I cant think of a way to get headlight up but off other than disconnecting battery after lights are on. Must be an easier way. Any input greatly appreciated. Ken Hatton 95 Probe SE

Follow Chris' advice. I've changed headlights in my old probe and my second gen. Leave em' on....it won't hurt anything. :) It only takes a few mins to do it... Carolyn 96 SE

if you open your fuse box and see where RETRA A is and take that fuse i think its a 20, your lights will stay up even if you turn them off. Ryan >

Kenny there is no reason to disconnect the battery when changing the headlights. Under the hood there is a fuse box. Take the cover off and remove the "retra fuse". It is a yellow 20 amp fuse which powers the headlight motors. So turn on the lights, take out the fuse, turn the lights off and they stay up. Be careful when putting the fuse back in because the lights will move once power is regained. Hope this helps Chris '96 SE some mods > >

when you turn your lights on goto the fuse panel in your engine compartment, and pull the retro fuse, its the fuse that controls the up and down movement of the head lights. once your done just put it back in and they will automaticly adjust themsevles. Jose G

you can change the headlights with the lights off and the battery still connected...there should be a rubber boot somewhere around the headlight...i have a 96 PSE and the boot is right behind it...just remove the boot and there should be a red knob with an arrow on it...turn the knob and the headlight should rise...then remove the plastic thing around the headlight and unscrew the headlight and take it out...make sure you unscrew the right screws and not the adjusting screws...put everything back when you're done and turn the knob towards the arrow again until it closes all the way...hope that helps Ralph

You forgot about taking the relay fuse out also I would do that first so that you will have a accedent such as the lights fliping down and taking your hand with it.
