What are the best supplies or materials for making a home made intake? As in plastic or a thin aluminum or a tin/nickle for making the snorkle portion? Whats a good cone filter or the best filter for using? Is it necessary to have the MAF plugged in? can you bypass that? Or does that still have to be incorporated into the homemade design? Phoenix 94' PSE Automatic (Thats why I need to make a homemade)

You gotta keep da maf! And keep it clean! I used pvc pipe, its about an 1/8th of an inch thick, there is some thinner stuff out there, but I couldn't find it. I made an adapter out of a block of aluminum that bolts right to the maf then attaches to the tube. I used a k&n cone filter. Seems to work so far. Just watch out for deep puddles! Drill a hole for the temperature sensor and screw that in too. If you are good with fiberglassing stuff, you could make one from that, but that would be much hard work unless you can keep it really really smooth while the fiberglass is drying/hardening. Otherwise get ready to sand the shit out of it. Scott 93SE

I used the one from speedpeople.com. I also have an atx, so I had to cut the end with the mounting plate off. I then used 3" PVC to mount the MAF and temp. sensors. Home Depot has everything you need. They have 90's, reducers, and couplers. The other thing you may want is heat wrap to help keep the air cool.

Hey, how does it sound? Does it sound okay, can you tell a major difference, does it almost sound as good as a professional one? Any improvments? Phoenix >
