I am not too trusting of my dealer either, but so
far so good. I haven't had to deal with the finance
person yet, I have a signed work order with price,
perks, and everything, but only have verbal commitments
to the 6.9% interest rate. I have already decided
that I am willing to walk away from the $200 deposit
if they dick around too much. But I am not willing
to give up the $200 without making an absolutely
obnoxious amount of noise.

It is hard to believe
that a dealer would pass up the opportunity to sell a
car. Even at invoice, they make at least 3% profit on
the hold-back alone. All they have to do is put in
the order and deliver the car, how tough can that
be?
I know my sales person gets just a flat fee on the
lower line cars, like the Focus and ZX2. Passing up
easy honest money is just goofy.

Anyway,
congrats on the Civic EX. It's a fine car.
