I have a 86 Ford Ranger, the motor skips when it
warms up. It has a 2.0 4 cyl. 1 barrel carb.
I've put on the following parts:
Rotor button
Dist. Cap
Plug wires
Plugs
Air filter
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump
Ignition Module
Checked the timing, and for vacuum leaks.
The truck still misses and back fires.
When you go down the highway at around 65,
it acts like on of the plugs or plug wires
are fouling out.
I checked the EGR valve, it was stopped up
on one side, but I cleaned it out, the diaphram
works when you put a vacuum to it. Sometimes the
skipping will stop after you stop at a stop light
or cut the motor off, but it will start missing
again after you go down the road a block or two.
If any one has any ideas I could gladly use
some advice!
Thanks!

As I was advised here a few months ago, go to fordranger.com and pull up the 4 banger tech page. Post your question there and you will have an answer instantly. It is a great site..you will see many posts from me there as well as lots and lots of other people with varied backrounds.

good luck
