does it have an SE sticker?? thats the best way to find out!! PLus the wheels, if it has wheel covers its a base, if it has 3-spoke wheels its a SE. also look at the front of yours and compare it too one of an SE, the SE model has a lower front. hope that can help. Ben 94 SE -

That is not always the case.
96-97 had the same front end as the GT.  Also, the interior amenities vary also.  Some bases have factory additions like power mirrors and the likes.  Also, my 97 base had alloy wheels from the factory, and not wheel covers.  My point being, all that has been mentioned previous to this message, will not indicate an SE or a Base.  Not even the Decals appear on all factory SE models.

You can tell from your vin number, but ask the ford dealer that one. The front clip is the best way to tell. Bases dont have openings in between the parking lights. Carolyn

Actually, my 97 base does have the opening between the parking lights. I think the best way to tell is by the VIN number as well. wilson 97 base

I have seen an SE and even a Gt with a base front end. Where? At a body shop, it was cheaper to replace the front cover with a base front than getting a GT front cover. For months I saw an SE in my nieghood with a base front end and so I asked the guy who owned it what was up with his car. He said that one night he wreaked it and didn't what to tell the insurance company so he got the cheaper front end. So the best way to tell what your car is, is by the VIN number. I forgot who to tell but I can email someone that I know who knows if anyone is interested.

After 96 or 97 all probes got the same front end, its the same year the changed to the new style tail lights and wheels, and they got the mazda look hubcaps on the base models. Chris 94 SE Weapon R Hyper Intake Shift Kit 2200 Stall Torque Converter NGK Plugs Talon Turbo 16" Wheels
