I am thinking of getting a ranger. I know its the highest MPG of any truck sold in america. I have some questions. I beleave the ranger is the only compact pickup left with a long bed option. Also, why is only the xl avalable in gold? How much do rangers go for new? I know the msrp but I am talking the real price after rebates ect. Is there anything else I should know about them? THANK YOU!

1st new XL's are only version- coming in gold... that's fords color option, but you can have one painted by ford I believe. 2nd new it's 16000 after all is said and done. I love my ranger- @ about 170,000 mi.s you'll need to replace the ball joints, how about that? Uhh... If you need more let me know. "Tom P."

They come in white. They have other colors. But other models don't have gold. WHY? Nicholas Pirro

I tried to look up fords reasoning and I can't find anything. The XLT is a fantastic version, if your persuaded towards another color:) (mines' red) If we keep asking we might find the answer somewhere, if you figure it out befor me email me the answer & I'll do the same for you. Now I'm interested in knowing why:)-- They really are very dependable, I haven't had any problems other than the ball joints

I belive the xl and xlt are the only ones with a long bed. I don't need a long bed, but heck its the only small truck left with a long bed option. Also, its like having a fullsize truck with small truck mpg. The sxt has a different grill. I just like regular cab trucks. Nicholas Pirro
