Hey guys ... got a 2002 Ranger XLT 5spd 3.0 ... a friend says that the idle is good (normal for Fords) ... but every couple of minutes it 'shudders' and then goes back to a quiet idle. I'm suspecting injectors. Got any suggestions or comments? Thanks, Otis

Same type of issue over here with my 96 2.3L, I was thinking since its time, do plugs / wires and go from there. Almost feels like a miss. . . could be any type of fuel / air / spark supply problem. How many miles you got on your truck, this one has 130k. Otis R Turbo

I've only got 15,000 on this engine. Getting only 17mpg city (EPA was 24 & 28) ... am NOT pleased ... sure smacks of false advertising to me! Bought it via CarMax & they just tuned it up and detailed it. If it's an obvious tuning problem, I'd be surprised. I took it into them and, don't ya know, it wouldn't 'shudder' at all sitting at the repair bay and running for 5 min ... but it did it every 2 minutes before and after. A local pickup specialist (they customize, etc) says Fords idle notoriously rich, says they gobble gas ... could explain my shitty MPG. Don't know if that figures into the 'shudder' that is noticeable at idle. Thanks for any input. Otis Hadrian Baron
