Does anyone have ANY suggestions on how to improve gas mileage? I travel basically in the city and my 5-speed ranger work truck is draining me lately.

Key things are to drive as smoothly as possibly, minimising heavy acceleration or braking. Also check your tyre pressures are correct, to avoid unnecessary drag. It's a temptation in a large vehicle to carry excess stuff around with you. Remember that every extra kilo means more fuel required to haul it!

Thanks for the input. I sure will put it to good use, especially with rising gas prices. Here the price of gas is 3.49 for a gallon of regular.

I was listening to the radio this morning and there was a piece on about a craze that is happening in USA, I don't remember what they called it but it involved avoiding changing gear and switching the engine off and freewheeling in neutral as much as possible. Surely this must be dangerous? I can't imagine that most people would want to drive like that!

I haven't heard about people going that far yet but some people are getting desperate to save money on gas. Heck there were people stealing it here at local gas stations.
