Replaced the master cylinder and adjusted rear brakes now Sifter will not come out of park with engine running. Engine off shiter will go into "N" , start engine put lever in park and it will not shift out of park.
What can be the cause.

If you are still having the problem, check your brake light fuse. I know that if it isw blown then you cannot shift the tranny at all.

atart the truck in park and put ur parkin brake on and block ur wheels so it wont move and have some1 else in the truck and go under it and on the tranny try to move the shifter lever on the tranny by hand that worked for my truck. just spray it down wit pb blaster to keep it lubricated and keep from freezing again.

You need to do a couple of things. First, make sure that any wires you had to disconnect when doing the master cylinder replacement got returned or reinstalled. Second if that doesn't yield results, unsnap the brake light connector at the break pedal. With a test light check both sides of the connecor for 12 VDC. One side should have it. If it doesn't you need to find the reason why. That's your culprit. Please do NOT climb under the vehicle with it on blocks and have someone start it and attempt to override the neutral safety switch by moving the linkage from below. This is dangerous. That's why the manufacturers have installed this type of safety device. If the brake lights don't work, it won't come out of PARK. If both brake light bulbs are burned out, it won't come out of PARK. You can also check the brake light fuse in the fuse box. This can cause it. Just don't get under that truck like that.
