So I'll state for the record...

I'm writing a report on removing the airbags from my own vehicle for one of my auto tech classes. I'm fully aware that tampering with the airbag is illegal depending on where you are. I have NO intention of removing or tampering with them in my truck. But I do need info on safety precautions to take before starting, as well as the steps on disarming and removing the airbag and then replacing it.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

disconnect the battery and wait ten minutes. then be sure to ground yourself ounce in a while to get rid of static electricity. when you have the the bag out only set it down face up because if its face down and for some reason goes of it will launch itself.
