Hi, I am sadly not the proud owner of an 04-08 F-150 as to why I am here. I am planing the purchase of a 05-08 (depending on mileage Vs Dollar) F-150 in early to mid fall. Where I live people and dealerships love to charge way to much for everything and not let you in on the little secrets that the carfax and background checks don't reveal. Now I am a Jeep guy and have been since age 13 but have recently fallen in love with the 04-08 fords and decided during my jeep build I want an F-150 as my everyday reliable vehicle , I am just curious what I should be looking for when looking at these trucks, I know what fun little secrets to look for in the purchase of a jeep but am clueless when it comes to these. I am after a fully loaded one, has there been any call backs or common issues with the electical systems? Which motor is the better for your average very little offroader (mostly a street queen) somewhat concerned about gas mileage but common you buy a truck with a V8 mileage is the last of your worrys but what I am more interested in is which motor is more durable the 4.6 or 5.4 (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on those). Has there been any suspension, drivetrain, etc. issues. I've unfortunatley made a few bunk purchases of vehicles and want to get all my facts in order before I go pass by some dealerships I was burned once and am not interested in it again. Any info on these trucks would be very helpful and very appreciated.

Thanks Muchly
