I took my car for an oil change to Jiffy Lube, back in October 2003.
Lawsuit is going to be heard in court in January.
Now, I'd like to get all your experiences and technical skills
to give me strength and ammunition.
First of all, Jiffy lube is not a bad place to change oil.
Just once in a while, you'd get a novice/unskilled worker
who would do damage to your car (my personal experience).
Now, on to my story.
- I took it in
- Sat down and waited
- in the meantime, 2 other cars are finished ahead of me
- sat still
- Cashier came and told me to sign with notice that
"heli coil was used by previous service station".
The note told me to go to the Ford dealer ASAP.
- I am so dumb, I signed the paper to acknowledge it
- The moment I took the car out, the oil leaked so
badly... (the oil was dry overnight, 2 days max.)
Previous service - Midas for oil change (more than a month
before Jiffy lube). NO LEAKAGE WHATSOEVER until I took
my car out of jiffy lube.
I collected and saved the "heli coil" after Ford replaced
the oil pan. $500
my questions are:
- HOW MUCH DOES IT TAKE TO KEEP THE SCREW/BOLT/Oil Plug
with the heli coil, intact WITHOUT leaking.
- WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED?
- Could Heli Coil stay so long??????
Your comments/suggestions/answers are greatly appreciated.
