Imagine that one fine day you're tooling around
in your nice, practically brand new ZX3 ... you park
and reach for your door latch to open the door; you
pull on the latch and nothing happens. You try again
and again, but the door will not open. So you realize
either you have to climb over to the passenger side to
exit, or you have to roll down your driver's door
window, pull open the door from the outside, and then
roll your window back up again as you lock up ....
Sounds like a hassle, huh?

Now, imagine that you
smell and see smoke coming into your car; worse, you
see flames ... panicked, you reach for the door
latch, you pull the latch, and again, nothing happens
... what do you do?

OK, suppose you're back to
the 1st scenario above; i.e., you're alive and you
take your nice new ZX3 to the dealer to get a warranty
repair. Well, they can't get the part to fix it, so you
have to come back again. You come back again only to
discover they don't have the right part. Sorry, come back
again says the dealer. You come the third time, and
still no part - even though they told you they had it.
Now all the dealer can say is sorry, but this happens
a lot with brand new models -- hard to get parts,
it's Ford's fault, nothing we can do. Meanwhile, about
two months have gone by since the problem surfaced,
and you notice in the Ford dealer's service window
that a state vehicle inspection includes the
inspection of door latches.

Question: what do YOU
do???
