I just put the J-cam in my car and I highly recommend it to everyone who doesn't have it and want to gain in the performance aspect.  I lost VERY LITTLE low end if any at all--it feels the same, except for when I got up hill, there's not as much pulling feeling, but not enough to make a marginal difference.  If people didn't say that you loose low end you wouldn't even be able to tell.  And at the high end you can definitely tell that there's more power.  It pulls from 4K to 6.5K very smoothly and strong.  The installation wasn't hard at all either, so I would recommend doing it yourself and save $200/$300 bucks for installation.  I'm glad we have HLA's because it makes cam switching VERY easy.

the cam only adds about 5 hp to anyone i ever know who did that mod, and it is absolutely terrible for turbo applications if you ever plan on forced induction.  its ok i guess if u like spending alot of money for slight gains...id have gone with hks or crane custom grind cams, which they will make for you, provided you give them the specs you want,  much more worth the $$$.  sorry gary, i gotta disagree with ya.

There have been a few dyno's to show that the cam gives 10whp.  How much would the custom grind cams cost?  I would think a lot more than $190, and plus you would be dealing with a more aggressive cam and would really sacrifice low end and the idle would be way to bubbly and annoying, especially with those of use who have performance exhaust systems.  However I do agree with you that it isn't much of a gain in terms of horsepower from a cam, but other things need to be placed in considerations too.  Just my opinion.  Thanks for yours.  Anyone else?  And about the Turbo, there are debates about whether or not it is good for turbo applications, and I think a more of them lean toward the "good for turbo" side.  However I don't know much about boost spec's so I couldn't agree or disagree with you.

i said not good for turbo because the duration is way to long for boosted applications and can cause valves to greet pistons head on, turbo cams have high lift but short duration...thats all.  custom cams...in the neighborhood of 300 bucks but you get intake AND exhaust cams and if you want it to be quiet kick the idle up like 300 and it wont have the typical cam "loping"...thats all it takes.  thanks for hearing me out man. jeremy
