I just purchased a new 2000 Ranger XLT 2x4 Extended Cab 3.0v6. The black clear coat is sharp to look at but a pain in the ass to keep clean. This is my first new vehicle and all of my other cars where used pieces of shit that I never bothered to keep clean. Does anyone have any suggestions for products that I can use to make sure I keep that new truck finish for a long time? Both interior and exterior?

Well for the exterior I would use a not so harsh soap, preferably one that suds up really good. umm waxing I use Zymol. Consumer reports rated best. The instructions on it indicate when you need to do it during the year. On the exterior any vinyl or your usual protectant, EXCEPT armor all. This stuff is proven to cause cracks in your dash and tires. So if you see a protectant made by Armor All, DONT use it. Other than that just vacumming ever now and then wont hurt. But when I want to take care of my ranger, I aim most of my time on the waxing. This, I think, is the key to a great looking vehicle.

CJ

The car show folks say that this is the best
stuff money can buy. It's kind of expensive, but
I'm thinking of ordering some for my '01 Ranger
while it's still new. This site also has some
good waxing/detailing tips. Check it out.

http://www.zianobros.com
