Girlfriend has a '96 Ranger extended cab; with standard 14" wheels. Thinking about moving up to 15", and possibly a lift kit. Anybody done this before? Any issues with speedometer calibrations, etc?

Luke

the speedometer should be have to be changed but it should just be a matter of hooking up a mechanics computer to it and telling the truck the size of tire it has

I have some 15x8's on my truck and I notice a slight difference on my speedometer. It's not to horrible though.

Nice to know, thanks. Next question; what about tires? She doesn't like the Firestones, and we're looking at strictly on-road use, with a bit of Interstate driving. (Key West!) Any brand preference?

Thanks,

Lucasrx

Personally I have the Firestone Firehawk SS20's on mine, and they are a nice smooth ride. My other rims I have for winter time, I have BF Goodrich T/A Radial's on, and they are just as comfortable of a ride as the Firestone's. I have had my BF Goodrich's for almost 4 years now (They were permanent rims and tires until 2 months ago) and I will probably have to replace them this year. (About 70,000 miles out of them. Hope this helps you out.
