just get a oil change and use Mobil1 5w30, especially if you live in a colder weather state. I had the same problem and a oil change fixed it. Also, the noise is probably your HLA's. Not getting enough oil to them, thats why you use thinner oil. Later Marc 93SE

it seems that the oil change didn't worked, the car still has low oil pressure and continue making a peculiar noise. Any other suggestions??? Fermin A. Sandoval PTI Technologies, Inc. (915) 772-4498 fsandoval@...

When you say that the car has low oil pressure, are you getting this reading from the pressure meter in the car? If I remember correctly, only the '93s have a sensor that actually gives a reading of oil pressure. All the other years are just a switch that when the pressure is too high or too low it will show on the meter. I don't know what year yours is but unless it's a '93, I wouldn't worry about it. It's prob. just lazy. As for the ticking, check Bryan's page (http://probenet.tripod.com) for the TSB on the oil pump. exactly how low does it go on the guage??? when the car heats up, the oil pressure is suppose to drop. Mine does the same as yours prob, i heard my lifters or oil pump ticking( no one knows for sure which it is) and I put Mobil 20-50 oil in mine and it has brung the oil pressure up a tad....this summer ill be putting in the jspec cam and new lifters so i then will be able to decide what exactly is making the annoying unharmful ticking noise everyone, i know the factory reccomendations but i run 20-50 in mine and a thicker oil WILL NOT hurt the engine. what do u think slick50 and stp oil treatment is...a very thick oil additive.

Once again I had the problem with the lifters and low oil pressure, I had a oil change and put in Mobil1 5w30 and it went away. Oil pressure was back up to normal. Marc
