a while back I posted about having problems with my dead gauges,
faulty headlights, and stalled tailgate window. The advice I got was
good, so once I made sure the fuses were good I began to attack the
rear window...until it broke. I was taking the shell off the back of
the truck when...long story short, the window shattered and I spent a
long time cleaning it up. Once I was done I was lucky enough to have
a dead battery to deal with - and that's where the real problem has
come from. Now, for some reason, my battery is being drained while
the Bronc is resting. I tried recharging the old battery, and it
would drain, so I got a new battery. Now, with a brand new battery,
I can start it right up, come back later and start it up again, but
if it sits over night, it won't even budge in the morning. I thought
there might be some sort of short/grounding issue related to the loss
of the rear window, so I cut all the electrical cords connecting the
tailgate to the body, tied them off so they wouldn't make contact
with anything or each other, and hoped that would fix it. It
didn't. My battery is still draining over night. Anyone ever heard
of this before? Any ideas of what to trouble shoot next? I'm
stuck. Thanks for your help.
