Drives: 63 1/2 galaxie 500XL 390 4 speed
Location: new mexico
Need to know what years and size of enignes would fit in my car 63 1/2 GALAXIE. It has a 390 4 speed stick trans now. I want to put a temporey enigne in for now so i'm looking for a used eng.

Location: Clark County, So. Indiana USA
390's were made in pickups up to '76. engine block started as 332 in '59, made many years as 352. 360 is same block with a smaller crank. Many similarities in later truck 361, 330, these are hidiously obsolete for dump trucks and school busses, junkyards should be closing them out. See "rebuilding big block fords" by Hayden.
