do you think it's below 20 mpg?
I never reached 20 mpg in city driving, no matter how low the rpm I drive.
I tried the fuel injector cleaner but it has no effect, no i'm getting 17.

I've been keeping track of my mileage since I bought my car and I'm averaging 31.6 mpg. I've had a high of 34.6 mpg and a low of 29.4 mpg. My mileage has held fairly constant so far.

Mine is doing about the same. I've noticed this when it's really cold out. Even if I only let the car idle for half a minute to a minute before head out.
warmer weather seems to see better gas mileage.

It does seem peculiar. We haven't hit the 3k mark yet though.

~Chelly
5 speed - '02 ZX3 - Power Premium - Yellow :)

I tested my highway miles this past weekend and averaged about 27. I agree with the warm weather factor...I'm here in Florida and seem to get a bit better than those up north.

I am at 12,000 miles. For the first 6,000 or so the gas milage was pretty bad, I averaged around 20mpg with mostly suburban driving.
It has progressively gotten better and on long distance trips (Chicago to Atlanta & Chicago to Montgomery, each 1600 miles round trip) I got around 35mpg.
My daily commute(22 miles round trip, mild stop fast and go fast) average is around 25mpg now.
My car is stock, 5 speed.
I have been fairly disappointed with the mileage and the car has lost alot of the new car tightness that made it so much fun in the beginning.

Hi folks, we're at 22,000 miles now and average 30mpg on the highway and 20 to 25 in stop and go city driving. We drive the car hard on road trips and I just love the way the car can be tossed about in the corners. Great bang for the buck. Car still feels tight, no rattles but a couple problem areas regarding the clutch. Our Dealer has been working with us on it though. We've gotten a rental everytime we bring it in. Seems to be a part quality problem in the clutch mechanism. The rear brakes squeal in the morning and the paint seems kinda thin, chips easily. We'll let everyone know once the clutch prob is figured out for sure.

For the most part, I'm pleased with the highway mpg. I only drive about 4 miles to work, but it is bumper to bumper, stop and go. I try not to ride the clutch too much, but still wish it was a bit better in town. I'm at about 5500k miles now and have had only one problem. The switch which automatically shuts off the turn signal broke. I really can't complain other than that. I put graphics it, tinted the windows dark, put on a chrome tail pipe cover, and got a personalized tag (in honor of my NY Mets :o).

That sounds reasonable. Heck, I can't complain too badly. I'm getting better mileage with a 13gallon 2L in the city than I did with my 4Runner with the 16.5 gallon 3L gas hog on the highway.

I'm waiting to see it improve with the warmer weather.

Later!
~Chelly

I agree there with the paint chipping.

Is there any info on that? Can we do anything to slow this down? I have 3 chips right to the metal.

First one was an idiotic grocery store carriage hitting the side.
