Hello all, I installed a MSD Blaster TFI Coil the other day. It gave me a little off the line power. Now I am looking into buying the MSD 6 ignition, the harnesses, and the tach adapter for a probe (actually listed in the msd catalog). I wanted to know if anyone else has installed the ignition and how much power did u gain?? If not, how much power should I expect. Oh Yea, the MSD 6 delivers 3 to 4 sparks each stoke up to 3,000 rpm then one large spark thereafter.

If you are going with a CAP box(MSD), go with the 6AL. It will limit your revs so you won't damage your engine. Also, MSD does not recomend a box be used with the TFI coil. You can use one though. I noticed a decent gain with mine. One other option is a set of Nology Hotwires. I happen to have a set for sale. Hope this helps, Steve

Is that coil not the easiest thing you have ever replaced? The ignition system on PSE is so easy to upgrade thanks to it being Ford's TFI ignition. Enjoy, Bryan >

My chip cuts out at 6500, the same spot that my tach redlights at. My shift light is set to flag me at 6000 in case I forget. The TFI coil will work, but it's just not as effective as a blaster 2 or other high performance coil. The 6AL is a little more, but it's worth it for the piece of mind. Steve

$165 is the usual price. I have a used set if anyone is interested. The only reason I am selling them is my car was totalled. Steve

WE PUT IN A 6AL IGNITION BOX IN AN ACCORD WITH THE BLASTER COIL. OUR CUSTOMER SAID THAT THE CAR IS A LITTLE SMOOTHER AND THAT HE DIDN'T SEE ANY GAINS:( THE MSD KIT IS A PAIN WIRE. THE INSTRUCTIONS SUCK. IM SURE THAT YOU WOULD SEE GAINS WITH SOME FUEL MANAGEMENT. IF YOU NEED ANY TIPS INSTALLING THIS KIT GIVE US A RING. RYAN.. >

MSD has adapters for the Ford probe that make installation a snap. I don't know about the Honda's but I've done a few Probes with no problems at all. Steve

I mounted mine on the wheel well under the hood on the drivers side. But I have the battery trunk mounted. You can also get a mounting plate from Summit which will help with mounting position and give under the hood a custom look. Which I would have used if I had known about it at the time.

I had mine mounted on the fender, however, when I was done racing one night I left my car at the track and the cold weather combined with the hot engine created moisture inside the box and fried it, needless to say I had to spend a couple of hundred dollars the next day at the track for a new one. If you dont use your glove box often you can cut out some of the back and mount it on the inside of the car on the firewall. This is where mine currently resides and I have had no problems with it since.

not sure what everyone else is saying, but most people have had to attatch it to the battery, though you're advised not to.. i'm not sure where else it would go....
