I  have a couple of quick questions for anyone.     1. Do flowmaster mufflers make the car a lot louder, or does it tone it more?       2. Does anyone know what is a good intake I can get for a good price.  I am more considered in performance than sound.

The Borla exhaust is a good choice but I found on my 86 that "Cherry Bomb Turbo" mufflers last a long time and they sound good too! I had the 21/2in glasspac and it is great for using less space, which means it can be lifted higher and you won't drag it on those big speed bumps!!:)

On my 84 Gt Turbo I used a plain old Cherry Bomb, 2 1/2" dia x 23" long. I had the stock downpipe, but gutted the cat. Every thing aft of the cat was 2 1/2 ". It ran a lot better and sounded real nice: not loud a all. When I redo it I'll use the 3" Dynomax you mentioned. Two of them; one to replace the cat and the other in the stock location on the LR side. Straight thrus help a lot on turbos and aren't loud because the turbo muffles a lot of the noise. the best thing you can do on a 2.3 turbo exh. is to change the downpip for a 3" one and run 3" pipe to the muffler, then after the muffler 2 1/2 or 3" is fine. the biggest thing is the 3" downpipe at least. this will make a very noticable difference. -Mark
