Look on Probetalk.com and go to a search and type in "Performance" and make sure you put it in the 2.0L Probe Performance section.

I also have a 95SE and we dont have many options. I have done cold air intake( modified to fit w/ATX),cat back exhaust(5ziggen), strut tower brace, and advanced my timing. All helped, but I still barely have enough power to get out of my own way. I would love to find a tarus SHO willing to donate its powertrain in any of the local boneyards. It would be nice to get in the 200hp+ range.

There is a difference from "feeling fast" and "being fast Since our cars have a lot of torque it feels a lot faster than it actually is.

Will a 3.o sho engine bolt straigt into the 95 se with very few mods?
I actually have 2 sho engines in my garage and have been wondering if they would work in my probe.  Also would I need a new tranny able to handle the extra power? I am obviously an ameture mechanic and I am doing the first engine work thet I've ever done right now, I'm rebuilding my stock 2.0 because I threw a rod. I just dog the car too hard because I'm a speed junkie but I love probes and I've driven the gt's and they still dont have the speed that I'm looking for.  If anyone has any ideas or suggestions let me know.

i doubt it would be an easy swap. its hard enough to get a gt engine in the car. good luck though!   scott 93sE

how much do you want for one of the engines, and can you give any history on them?

I asked this question years ago on the Probe performance list and was told that the SHO engine is physically too wide to fit in a Probe engine bay. It'd make for one hell of a car if you could pull this off though.

I dont know the engines well at all I just picked up two of them form a local salvage yard one has 37,000 mi the other with 62,000 My uncle has a taurus so we were planing on doing that swap and someone told me that the sho would bolt in I got the engine for $800 so I could try. Why would it be dificult to replace the 2.0 with the GT engine? are the cars not identicle with diferent engines? If any one knows where I could find some guidence on intalling the sho let me know please.

I think they will fit, but there will be a lot of modifications needed plus a tranny wiring harness and ECU. I would like to try it. I just need resorces(money) or parts plus another person to help me. I have the knolege to do it.
